🦋Hey, Hottiee’s 🦋 Can you believe it’s been three months since I posted a video? I know… But your girl has been studying for the MCAT, work, graduate school, and life full-time! It's been a lot, but I'm glad to be posting again! In this video, I'm very candid with my feelings as a non-traditional student and how fear and comparison really took me on a mental battle in terms of confidence and self-esteem! As pre-meds, we tend to pour into others from a place of empathy, but we rarely show ourselves that same empathy and grace. Especially when it comes to exams, eating, and resting! So often, we take time on others, but rarely do we take the time to learn ourselves. Our triggers, our emotions, and most importantly.. WHO WE ARE! I can’t tell you how many times throughout this journey, I’ve had to say... I’m more than a doctor! I am me, Mikayla, and actually believe that to be true. So much of myself went into medicine, that I truly had no self-identity or with when my world came crashing down after being rejected from every medical school I applied to… 25 schools to be exact! For the last three years, my life felt as though it was at a standpoint, especially in my relationships and how I perceived love. The sad part is, I was so easy to give healthy love or so I thought, that I had a hard time receiving love, let alone help when I truly needed it. It took time, truly surrendering to God, to realize: Who I am, What I am worth, and my true value– identity! I encourage you, ladies, especially, and men to find yourselves in Christ first, yourself with you second, and your hope in your heart and all that is around you! Always remember, you have to water yourself before you can water another’s well within themselves. No matter the cost, always water yourself and love yourself the most. Because then can you truly show unconditional love to others who need you the most! Again, repeat after me... I AM WORTHY OF TRUE LOVE! I AM WORTHY OF UNCONDITIONAL LOVE! AND I LOVE MYSELF EVEN MORE! Hey Holistic Hottiee's, It has been a long time, but I needed to break away and return when I was ready and well-rested! Over the last two years, I have experienced trying, depressing, and downright doubtful times. I've never been so unsure of myself until this time in my life and am finally seeing this new season as the precursor of such development and growth.
